Compton, Calif. - Freshman Mike Hernandez scored in the final inning after getting on board on a leadoff walk, but the Compton baseball team came up short against East LA, 6-1, on Monday afternoon.
Freshmen Kevin Smith, Jose Montalvo, and Julian Sansores accounted for the team's hits. And freshman Jesus Lopez (0-3) started the game and was the pitcher of record.
The Tartars head to East LA next on Tuesday, Mar. 13 for a 1:30 p.m. contest.
