Rodriguez Honored on Sophomore Day against El Camino
Compton, Calif. - Sophomore Alexandro Rodriguez went 1-for-3 with a RBI on Sophomore Day, but the Tartars fell to El Camino, 13-1, on Thursday afternoon.
Rodriguez leads the team in nearly every offensive category, including doubles, triples, home runs, runs scored and RBI.
Freshman Billy Sanchez earned the lone multi-hit outing with a 2-for-3 performance. Freshmen Nick Redick, Julian Sansores, Kevin Smith, and David Frontanez all earned hits each.
On the mound, freshman Andy Rosales (4-5) was charged with the loss after throwing three complete innings, fanning three. Freshmen Danny Hernandez and Cory Bradley also made appearances in the game with Bradley throwing 2.1 scoreless innings.
The Compton baseball team (9-30, 1-20) wraps up the 2018 season at El Camino (23-16, 12-9) on Friday, Apr. 27 at 2:30 p.m.
