Bio
C.J. Arnold was named manager of football operations and athletic facilities, a new leadership position established to support the reorganization and long‑term revitalization of the Compton College Football Program. The announcement was made on April 21, 2026.
Arnold will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the Coyotes football program, including coordination of scheduling, logistics, compliance support, and internal operations. The position also provides leadership for the use, coordination, and oversight of the college's athletic facilities, a role that will become increasingly significant with the opening of the new Physical Education Complex, currently in construction and scheduled for completion in summer 2027. Arnold will provide administrative oversight of the facility once it opens.
"This position gives us the operational structure we need to better support our football student‑athletes and coaching staff," said Compton College Dean of Athletics and Student Support Services Dr. Tim Harrison. "By strengthening day‑to‑day management, compliance coordination, and facilities oversight, we are creating a safer and more sustainable program that aligns athletics with academic success."
The football program's reorganization addresses years of persistent challenges, including declining roster sizes, elevated injury rates, and operational demands that placed strain on student‑athletes and staff.
"I am honored to join Compton College at a pivotal moment for its football program," Arnold said. "My focus will be on building strong operational foundations, supporting student‑athlete well‑being, and ensuring the program is organized, compliant, and prepared for long‑term success—both on and off the field."
Arnold joins Compton College after serving recently as the athletics specialist for El Camino College, where he was mainly responsible for in-season eligibility for 400-plus student-athletes.
He played football as a safety for Los Angeles Harbor College and San Jose State University and earned his master's degree in sports management. He went on to coach football for 15 years, mainly at the community college level. He is known for his ability to handle different facets of athletics programs, positive energy, attention to detail that creates an efficient and productive work environment and building connections with student-athletes in support of student success.
Arnold's 15-year coaching experience includes stints an assistant football coach at East Los Angeles, Grossmont (associate HC), and Cerritos Colleges (defensive backs coach/video coordinator). He was an associate head coach/recruiting coordinator at San Jose State University after serving as a graduate assistant.
