Compton, Calif. - Sophomore Ignacio Carrillo scored the go-ahead goal in just the fifth minute as the Compton men's soccer team shut out Pasadena, 2-0, on Friday afternoon.
Freshman Juan Albizar added an insurance goal in stoppage time, hitting the nearside of the goal on a feed from sophomore Juan Perez. Sophomores Brian Araux and Ulises Aldaz earned assists in the goal by Carrillo.
Albizar led the Tartars (11-3-1) with five of the team's 13 shots. Sophomore Larry Sanchez counted a pair of saves in the goal playing all 90 minutes.
The men's soccer team continues crossover play, heading to Mt. San Antonio next on Tuesday, Oct. 24 for a 6 p.m. game.
