Four Women's Soccer Players Honored On All-South Coast Conference Team
Four Compton College women's soccer players were selected to the 2024 All-South Coast Conference South Division Team with Anahi Rodriguez and Yarely Marquez picked to the First Team while Joseline Rivera and Georgina Moreno making the Second Team.
Rodriguez, a sophomore forward, was the team's leading scorer this season with nine goals and one assist. Marquez, also a 2-year letterman, was the team's top defender.
Rivera is a 2-time, All-SCC selection as a sophomore center-midfielder. She scored three goals and added two assists for the year. The sophomore Moreno was also a starting defender all season for Compton.
In the season-ending SCC Tournament, Compton shut out host Los Angeles City, 1-0, thanks to a Rodriguez on Nov. 8 before losing to LA Harbor, 3-1, in the seventh place final on Nov. 12. Freshman midfielder Sylvana Santos scored the team's goal in the defeat.
Compton is directed by head coach Jose Garcia.
